I'm Heading to Berlin and ITB in March!

You guys, I am so excited to tell you that I am going to be in Berlin from March 6th to 10th! I'm going with my university. It will be my first time in the city, my first time staying in a hostel (I'm so sorry roomies, I snore), and my first time going to a travel industry event! I'll be at ITB, which is the largest show in the travel/tourism industry on the 9th. I'm really looking forward to the networking opportunities, so if you are going let me know!

I must confess, my knowledge of the city is strictly limited to WW2, the fall of the Wall, and watching Cabaret. I also know that everyone I know who has been loved it and that there is something called Museum Island. Since, I am going with my university, there are a lot of preplanned activities but there is a lot of free time as well. So, I want to know, what do you love about Berlin?

I've never been to Berlin but I've heard SO many good things about it. A friend recommended the Prenzlauer Berg neighbourhood to me; apparently it's a great place for food, drink, and art.

Hey Amy,
Thanks for the suggestion! I will be sure to check it out! I just googled it an it is home to Berlin's oldest beer garden, sounds like something I would check out.

I was only there once, when we were going to Vienna from Switzerland, and we only stayed one night. I loved the zoo, it's huge and the animals seemed happy (at least that's how I remember it... it was 2002). Nowadays I hear it is a very young and very hip city, all the artists and designers go to live there, there are plenty of graffittis, nice bars, etc. I remember the sights being very pretty, the wall, Brandenburg gate. It is one of those places, so vibrant, where it must be nice to live. Have fun.

Thanks Amanda, I actually recall other people saying some really good things about the Zoo, so it might be worth making time for. I'm so excited about the "scene"
